Kosher Innovations re a small Jewish company based out of Toronto. whose goal is to invent and market creative products that benefit the observant Jewish community (i.e. those who keep kosher and shabbes etc.). They describe themselves as “constantly exploring ideas for Jewish products that are practical, innovative and halachically permissible”.
It all started out with the Kosher Lamp – a light that can be “switched on” and off on Shabbat. It works with an ingenious shade system meaning that you don’t actually have to switch it off or on at all (something that is forbidden for Jews who keep shabbes).
The Kosher Lamps come in all different colours and styles – there is even one for kids in the shape of a teddy bear! This is great for people who want to be able to read in bed on a Friday night and not have their sleep disturbed by having to keep the light “on” all night.
